As the Central Anatolian Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, we organized our second Food Sectoral Trade Mission to Japan, one of the most significant markets in our sector’s exports, with the participation of 10 companies.

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Trade and the organization of the Central Anatolian Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association, a Food Sectoral Trade Mission program covering the cities of Tokyo and Osaka was carried out between 10–15 November 2025.

Prior to the mission, our Association commissioned the preparation of a “Japan Market Research Report” to support our member companies exporting to or seeking to enter the Japanese market. The report provided a detailed analysis of Turkish export products with high potential in Japan and offered valuable insights for companies aiming to establish a presence in the market. As bilateral business meetings stand out as the primary method for initiating commercial relations in Japan, it was decided to organize a trade mission with the participation of companies exporting high-potential products.

With the participation of 10 Turkish companies, the program commenced on 11 November 2025 in Tokyo with bilateral business meetings. Following the opening remarks delivered by our Ambassador to Tokyo, H.E. Oğuzhan ERTUĞRUL, Tokyo Chief Commercial Counsellor Mr. Sedat YILDIZ made a presentation evaluating bilateral trade relations between Türkiye and Japan as well as sectoral developments. Subsequently, our Secretary General, Mr. Musa DEMİR, provided an overview of our Association, our sector’s export performance, and opportunities in the Japanese market. After the opening session, participating Turkish companies held bilateral meetings with representatives of 39 Japanese companies.

Following the program in Tokyo, the trade mission continued in the city of Osaka. On 13 November 2025, a visit was paid to the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, Tokyo Chief Commercial Counsellor Mr. Sedat YILDIZ delivered a presentation on bilateral trade relations between Türkiye and Japan, while our Secretary General, Mr. Musa DEMİR, provided information about our Association and the sector, and introduced the Turkish companies participating in the mission. Subsequently, bilateral business meetings were held between the Turkish companies and representatives of 26 member companies of the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On the final day of the mission, 14 November 2025, a visit was paid to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), where meetings were held with Mr. Takuro NOZAWA, Director of Overseas Relations, and Ms. Minako HYASHI. On the same day, the All Japan Supermarket Association was also visited, and discussions were conducted with association representatives Mr. Koji TODA and Ms. Haruko OKUMURA regarding potential cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

As a result of the highly productive bilateral business meetings, our participating companies established promising commercial connections, which are expected to contribute positively to our export performance.
